“Hö(r) mal, wer da hämmert” – true to the play on words in the headline, referencing a popular sitcom from the 90s, one could also say (according to the English original title “Home Improvement”) “Time Improvement.”
No one has ever driven the Porsche Cayman GTS (“Fluffy”) of the rent2Drive-racing team from Döttingen around the 24.358 km combination of GP short circuit and Nürburgring Nordschleife faster than Laurents Hörr. After exactly 09:10.972 minutes, the 27-year-old from Gerlingen, Baden-Württemberg, crossed the start/finish line in qualifying for the second time.
Never before had the class V6 pole-sitter from Adrenalin Motorsport had to stretch so hard to extend his streak of pole positions. It took a massive effort by the two-time NLS overall winner Daniel Zils in the Porsche Cayman S to secure the spot in the sun, yet in the end the lead amounted to just a mere six tenths of a second.
Thanks to complete video documentation, Hörr’s fabulous lap was also to the benefit of his two teammates in the #410 car, namely Daniel Nölken from Bad Honnef and Teamchef David Ackermann. During the 56th ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy, the third race of this year’s Nürburgring Endurance Series, the latter was able to celebrate a personal best time in the Cayman.
However, the main focus was on Hörr and Nölken completing their required laps without incident in order to earn their respective permits. In the perfectly prepared car, set up by Max Runte, this ultimately posed no problem. In the end, the third place in class was on the books. Laurents Hörr managed to improve his lap time in the race once again by a good 2 seconds to 09:07.926 minutes.
